Systems Engineering
Our Vulcan Wireless team supports customers through feasibility studies, mission planning and design conception for communications systems. We specialize in designing optimized communications solutions that fit various channel types and meet strict performance requirements. We develop custom signal acquisition (including automatic waveform detection), tracking techniques and demodulators for a variety of environments (low SNR, high Doppler, etc.)
Conducting simulations and analysis of the deployment environment is one of many ways we ensure the best of quality for our customers. This design, simulation and testing process enables us to independently determine key communications systems requirements relieving the customer of these risks. This allows you to focus on your mission data and not worry about the communications link.
Software Development
Vulcan Wireless develops embedded software systems in DSPs, microcontrollers, FPGAs and general purpose processors for integration and signal processing. As an alternative to more expensive electrical radiation hardened designs, we have innovative “soft” radiation mitigation techniques. In our software defined radio systems, we create a framework for rapid waveform integration and deployment.

System Verification
Our system verification test setup include RF and Microwave characterization equipment, analog and digital test characterization equipment, and digital communications testing of waveforms and signals. To meet strict orbital and terrestrial reliability standards, we operate a full in-house environmental testing lab for all products. We conduct rigorous qualification and acceptance testing for vibration, temperature, humidity, vacuum tests, EMI/EMC prescreening and burn-in to ensure high reliability and flawless performace.
